I am a certified reading specialist, special education teacher, and general elementary education teacher with experience teaching in public and private school classrooms in New Jersey. I have taught in inclusive settings, resource rooms, and self-contained classrooms. Although I have also taught secondary and preschool students, my focus presently is on teaching students from kindergarten to grade 5.
My joy for teaching lies in teaching reading and guiding students to success. I am able to create positive relationships with my students and work with both their strengths and their needs in each learning session.
I mainly employ the Orton Gillingham approach to learning to read, but will also work with aspects of the Wilson/Fundations and Lindamood Bell LiPS programs as are needed by your child. This may also be determined by the programs presently being utilized in the school your child attends. See the “Reading Information” page for more details. Comprehension lessons may also be a part of your child’s lessons. The first meeting with you and your child will be an assessment to help uncover specific areas of need.
Please see the “Contact” tab to discuss an issue or request a session. I will respond to your note within 24 hours.
